Another never ending saga of the DJ.

Then there is the person which says, “I don’t know what I wanna hear ……..What do you have?” Well, let’s see if it would be easier for you to get another beer and figure out what you want to hear, than it would be for this DJ to recite the name of every record in the booth.

Then there is that one person, while the dance floor is packed, comes over and says, “Hey yo! Buddy! Nobody can dance to the song!”
Even if there is only one person on the dance floor, I KNOW, I KNOW! It still contradicts that statement. You’re just being rude, have an open mind about the music.

The next common statement that we as DJ’s hear is “WOW! Everybody will dance to it if you play it!” First of all: The DJ won’t……So I guess that blows a hole in that theory! Most of the times that you hear this, only the person requesting it goes to the dance floor. And when they realize that they are the only ONE on the floor, they bail.

Keep this tip in mind. If you ask for a dance song and don’t dance to it, expect to ignore your requests the rest of the night. However, if we play their song and they dance and have a good time, even if no-one else does, we will still take their next request seriously. We like to please, even if it’s just for one person at a time.
