DJ Lighting and Cables

Lately I have been asked about what to do with all that extra wire that we carry around with us.

Yes there can be a lot of ugly wire showing all around our equipment. So what do I do to make it look appealing to the eye and keep it safe so nobody will trip over it when they come to make a song request.

First there is buying some GAFFERS TAPE which is like DUCK TAPE but a little less sticky and easy to pull off from wherever we had placed it.

Second we should always carry around a lot of ZIP TIESĀ  or WIRE TIES with us to keep multi lines in some kind of order.

Third there is the VELCRO fastener which can be used over and over again because it is not a adhesive.

These are just a few things you can use to keep your wires tied down so no one will trip or fall.

To hide all the wires that we stash under our tables, I am a good believer in my shield that I built from about six frames held together with door hindges and the frames covered in some light-weight white material. When I have all the wires placed underneath the table, I unfold my screen made to look like a portable partition. Then behind the screen, I place some white up-lights or some in the colors of the bridal party.

Another thing that you should remember is that when using so called POWER or EXTENSION CORDS, make sure that they are not orange or green in color that stands out like a sore thumb. Black seems to be the best to use since it tends to blend in with most anything that the hall or place of venue has been decorated with.

If you have any other ideas of what to use , shoot me a comment.

Thank you and keep on reading.
